too many random thoughts

*summer is finally here and we ARE enjoying it! our backyard is awesome, that's where the kids want spend most of their time, jumping on the tramp, helping dad in the yard, playing in the hose, "weeding" the garden, we are taking a break from karate for the summer, we have gone on a few mini trips and swimming lessons have started and nick will do 2 sessions of them this year. we got new bunk beds for the kids, that was fun for dad to put together! nick broke his arm.... we knew it was coming, cuz he is sooo active! he was climbing up the door frame and slipped breaking his left arm a "buckle" fracture, he didnt cry for me, he wanted his bugga, he will be in a cast for 6 weeks, its a removable cast which hasn't been too bad, he can swim in it, we can take it off for baths! 2 weeks down 4 more to go!

*nathan and i celebrated our 4th anniversary 6/16/06, we have been together 7 years, wow~ we had bugga sleep over and we spent the night at anniversary inn, ate at ruth chris, we shopped, we walked down town salt lake, we had drinks at gracies, it was really nice spending time with my amazing husband, we really, really do like each other, we need to spend more time just us, seems like kids, work, money, house, school, life all take precedence. fathers day was fun, with the kids getting older and understanding holidays. we let dad sleep in, made him breakfast in bed, and he got a weed eater, went to the in-laws for dinner.

*nathans birthday is coming up, we are considering having his annual birthday party, i really do look forward to it, its fun, i should say crazy, too many people, but once a year? we actually haven't had one in a couple years! so its time, we also need to celebrate he graduated with his associates and spanish to go for his bachelor!!

*strawberry days came and went, it is such a tradition, carnival, rodeo, parade and the carnival again, i am glad it was warm this year last year it rained on us and i was only a few days out from surgery, this year was much better.

*jorja is..... a handful! she is beautiful, people stop us and ask do you curl her hair like that... yes my almost 2 year old sits still for me to put ringlets in her hair..NO!! she is funny with a little personality, a little shy, she is stubborn, and ALL girl, she gets her feelings hurt, dad spoils her!

*i have been hanging out a lot lately with old friends, it has been a blast reconnecting, i am grateful for good friends, dinners, drinks, bbqs, concerts, 3 of them are going through divorces, and i have to say how VERY VERY grateful i am for nathan! he is soo patient with me, a great dad, so faithful, and confident! its a second "marriage" for both of us and i think it has taught us what really matters! I am so thankful to be in utah with nathan and not in california, 8 years ago i would never have imagined being happy like this, i have almost been with nate as long as i was with jeff, that blows my mind! jeff and i are friends, which i think is healthy, i couldn't "hate" someone i spent so much life with, he taught me a lot, i have grown so much through that whole experience! i know who "I" am, not a lot of people can say that!

* i have rambled on and on. we have a new mini laptop, i hate it and i need a new cord for my camera to connect to the computer, to down load pics, do you know how hard it is to purchase just the cord?? i am thinking of going "private".....

well..... where do i start? i have not posted anything lately, no christmas, new years, birthday or valentines photos or posts. why you ask? we were robbed!!! someone broke into our home jan. 11th and stole our laptop, hard drive, x-box, x-box games and accessories. i feel so violated, the feelings of some stranger being in our home, all the fear, but the worse part of all..... ALL my photos were on the laptop, jorjas birth, her 1st birthday, christmas, ALL gone.
we had an awesome christmas, the kids were so much fun! this year for new years nathan had a great $ gig, out of state, i stayed home with the kids, my birthday....32 this year, it was fun, i got spoiled!! we are still here, happy as ever! kids are growing fast, jorja is 18 months old already and she is all girl!! we applied for the spanish immersion program for nick, 1st grade at timpanogos. work is good, i got a raise at the first of the year. nathan is almost done with his associates degree, graduating this spring!! woo hoo! then two semister of spanish only til his bachlors! i am proud of him! i need warm weather, i am ready for spring!
we are planning a "family" vacation, those two words dont go together, just kidden!
all is well with the robinsons!!

Christmas is almost here.....

One week to go, christmas is almost here!! I dont know about you, but this whole santa thing is HARD!! Nick is older now and i am not a very good secret keeper.
The expectations, "santa's" wrapping paper, hiding the presents, all the surprises, trying to shop without kids, awwww!! This year Nick is so interested in the whole thing, not just getting gifts but giving, sweet little guy!! He is so concerned if santa is real, he is only 5!!
Jorja loves santa, when she sat on his lap (once at the mall and once at the Argyle family christmas party) she was in amazment, she laughed at him and tipped her head, like wow look at this guy! We are pretty much done christmas shopping, just a few odds and ends left, christmas dinner with the girls, cookie exchange party saturday, lots of fun!!

After all the halloween fun with the kids was all over, we went up to sundance to watch nathan and two and a half white guys play, it was packed, they rocked!! Holly, Brad, Brooke, Maria, Roger and Zach sneaking in the picture. I needed a night out!!

This year we dressed up as the Dalmatians (try not to laugh too hard)
Bugga was Cruella De Vil, she looked so good!
nick was a good sport to wear the dog costume with all of us but he wanted to tricker treat in his black spiderman costume that he also wore to school. we went to joe and jeanettes for dinner and then out for a little tricker treating with the family, it was fun!!

UEA weekend

It is rare that Nathan has a weekend off from his bands, so we took advantage of the long weekend for UEA. Nick and Nathan were both off of school, i took a few days off and we headed to st george for a long weekend, we were originally headed to Disneyland but decided to save some money and just stay in st george. Disneyland will be better when jorja is older. We had a lot of fun, it was beautiful weather high 80's, we swam, we hiked, went to the dinosaur museum, we shopped and ate too much. It was really good time and glad we went!

the ramp is so big! I am proud of my husband, he can build just about anything! This is something he has always wanted, we have a big enough yard that it is perfect.

Happy Birthday Jorja!!

September twelveth she turned one, wow this year has flown by!

she is so much fun, girls are defiently harder then boys, she is emotional and moody

where nick at her age was wild! She is not walking yet but close, she chatters, mommy, dada, nick, thank you, and she signs a few things too! she knows all her features, she waves and claps but the cutest thing..... she sings happy birthday!

what fun, she is such a joy! There is nothing more rewarding then my great kids!

We had her party, lots of people came, she did not like her hands in the cake at all! so cute!

Today was the big day.... Nicks first day of kindergarten!
Lets back up a little bit, If you know me, you know that i have a schedule, so last night in preparation of school, both kids bathed, new school clothes ironed and sat out for morning, backpack ready by the door and kids a sleep by 8:20, nick was so excited, he was excited to ride the bus? poor kid we don't have a bus, i will be taking him. He wanted to wear a red shirt, his teacher assigned colors for each day to wear for the first week, i was a little disappointed only because he has such cute clothes and he wore the red "Ben 10" shirt, he still looked cute. we dropped Jorji off first and then to the madness of elementary school mornings, there were kids, cars, bikes everywhere, we got out and i walked in, but i embarrassed him taken pictures the whole way, so was every other mom too! he found his class room, he was so excited and nervous i could tell, we were the first ones there, his sweet little teacher remembered his name, he was so good, he is such an easy going little guy, and then i left.......
proud of him but sad only because he is growing up too fast!

so, every mother with school aged children has felt this way, I am sure!
we had back to school night and met Nicks teacher last night, i cried !!
this has been the fastest 5 years of my life, he is so big!! He is very excited to go to
Kindergarten! He has grown up so fast, I am so proud of him, I really enjoy his company,
he is actually a cool kid!! I got all emotional, not at the school or in front of people, but i cried
I just told nick that i was proud of him and it wasnt a sad cry, wow my little guy is going to
school!

busy summer

Its been a while, we have been so busy enjoying our summer!! Nathan has been playing a lot, 2 bands keep him busy and he also worked out of town in Atlanta, Jorja is getting too big, she is almost a year already, what a fast year! she is crawling all over and pulling herself up on anything and everything, lots of bumps and bruises! Nick is excited to start Kindergarten, we are all done school shopping, next he has back to school night to meet his teacher and then assessment testing. I drove to Phoenix last friday and drove back home on saturday, to pick up a good friend, that was a fast road trip!!! we go to the pool every chance we get, the kids love the water. we have a new renter in the basement, ty moved out and nick is so sad! we had 2 very, very large branches break in our yard, taking out the entire city blocks power, that was fun, no! we went boating on sunday, it was so much fun! nick asked me "why havent we gotten a boat yet" ha ha funny kid! he was great, he loved the tube and he even wanted to try wakeboarding, brave little guy, of course i didnt let him try it just yet!

Arts Festival

Nathan played at the arts festival this year, every chance we get, we take nick to watch dad play, Bugga watched jorja and we went to the arts festival. he is getting older now he is starting to understand that his dad is in a band and people actually come to see HIM play. Sitting backstage, listening to dad sing, watching the crowd all dance, everybody buying cd's, nate signing autographs, nick said "so i guess my dad IS cool"

we laughed so hard! I am very proud of my musican husband!

4 of July

We celebrated Nates birthday, we surprised him with a new iphone and a hammock, and then went out to dinner with friends! We have a great group of friends!! He had to play out of town for the fourth of July, last year we went with him but missed out on all of our traditions so this year we stayed here, woke up very early and went to the balloon launch. If you have never been you need to go, it is really neat, the kids love it! Then walked over to the parade, we had a nice shady spot, then on to the carnival downtown Provo, nick was so excited look at his face how much fun he was having! We also celebrated aishas birthday that night (happy birthday aisha) we bbq'd and did fireworks, it was a great day!! we were beat, we left early, after ten is late for us especially after such a long full day!

Jorji Loved the fireworks, she was so interested! and she is finally crawling!!

nicks surgery

Just an update, Nick had surgery on Thursday. He is doing great, children are so amazingly resiluant, I am so amazed by him! the worst part for the poor little guy was coming off of the general anes. He had two ingunial hernias, the surgeon from Primary childrens said that he "just had to fix what mother nature didnt" the hernias were small! Now just to keep him down, no jumping on the tramp for 2 weeks.
Thank you all for your cares and concerns! we had lots of vistors and gifts, even little sam brought him a get well bakugan toy. Thank you!

We went to Aisha's pool, Jorja is a water baby!! she splashed and splashed! the water was a little cool, little Kaluna is a fish, the boys start swimming lessons soon, nick is so excited he cant wait!
Jorja wants to do what the big kids are doing all the time, she is just about crawling! since she is our last, i want her to stay little!

While Brooke was in town we went to the Zoo (the dreaded zoo) just kidden, it was fun, it was a nice hot day, but we had to park up the canyon and walk miles and miles. the kids just loved all the animals, Nick said his favorite was the snakes, he is all boy!!

well here it is.... it is much bigger than i thought it was going to be.
i can just see it now, tons of friends over all the time and broken bones, oh what fun! but, nick is very excited. right now it is in a warehouse and it has to be taken completely apart and moved to our backyard then reassembled, a lot of work. nathans friends are soooo nice to help. they are great!

girls night out

for the last 2 years, we have gone to girls night out, dinner once a month! before we leave every time we schedule our next dinner! we have not missed a month, I really enjoy these girls! they are good friends, we laugh so hard, we cry, we vent, we really have fun! we are there for each other, we've been through good times and bad. I worked with Maria and Natalie at the Hospital, then Maria transfered to AF, then i quit to work for Dr Rose, Natalie quit to be a stay at home mom, then meet angie through natalie and through work, i went to high school with her husband, she is also in maria's ward. small world. Angie is due any day with twin girls, she looks amazing!
We have all gone on such differnt paths but have had fun keeping in touch. cant wait for next months dinner.

i have a free minute to post so i am getting them all done.

I only work three days a week, but that is still time that i am not with my family. its hard to shut work off sometimes....surgeries/order implants/silicone vs saline/prescriptions/billing/collections/schedule blah!! so I race home to do something fun with the kids, we went to the field by the house and flew kites, we walked there, nick was worried about crossing the road, does that mean i scare him too much about traffic? jorja thought it was so funny to watch nick and the kite, of course the wind quit right after we got there. we also, took them to the park and really enjoyed the warm weather, it was packed, everybody had the same idea!
I am very excited for summer!! we have swimming lessons coming up, nick has summer camp with his school, his birthday is at the end of the month, nates birthday too!!

My kids adore their bugga, when nick is hurt or sad he cries for "his bugga" i think it is so important that they know their grandma, she is such a HUGE part of our lives and i wouldnt want it any other way, we are so close, she is my best friend, i love it!! I wish i would have been closer with my grandma cause she is the only one, my father (i dont call him a dad) parents died a very long time ago and i did not know them. I need to write and go visit my grandma in st george more often.
but bugga sure does spoil them, Jorja got a new saucer, she loves it, she thinks she is so big in it. Nick got a new Hulk costume (boys can play dress up too) he acts tough and walks around flexing his muscles! Thank you bugga!!!

remind me to never do home improvements!! ha ha! we started spring cleaning then decieded to paint the hall, it is not very big but with all the closets, doors and built in drawers it took forever! Then mid painting, nathan deceided to build a new fence in the back yard, it looks great! he is a HARD worker but now he has deceided to build a ramp. yes a skateboard ramp.....

Easter

oh what a great day!! Nathan got home, bugga came over and we had a massive egg hunt in the back yard (that nick patiently waited for) nick had to find the easter baskets too. Bugga kept Jorjie warm, while nathan helped nick, then we ate a yummy easter dinner, funeral potatoes, honey baked ham, bbq baked beans, salad, green bean casserole, rolls, fruit, like we needed anymore sweets but i also made brownies! I was quite proud of myself!

i can't believe all the candy and toys! its over! the older nick gets the harder it is to keep surprises. oh i almost forgot...... jorja loves pickles!! yup pickles, i thought i would tease her by giving her a taste, thinking she would make a funny face but no she loved it and wanted more! we laughed so hard! she is starting to feel better now that she got and antibodic!

easter is one of my favorite holidays, but this year i have not been so into it! Nathan is out of town and will be home sunday afternoon, we died eggs and had a easter egg hunt with Holly and brookes families, they had fun but it was over so fast, the big egg hunt, easter baskets and easter dinner will be tomorrow, hopefully it warms up a little, we are sick again! seems like we just got better.

Doctor appt.

sorry about so many posts right in a row but i had a free minute. Both kids had doctor appointments, Jorja had a six month check up and Nick had kindergarten well-visit, both had to get shots and that did not go over very well with nick he was so upset, good thing dad came with! we had to go to wal-mart and get a new toy to make it better, they checked his eyes and hearing, all is perfect, i was worried about his eyes but 20/20 vision! Jorja is 13 lbs and 8oz she is so happy and smiley, she can make rasberries, stick her tongue out at you, roll over and trying so hard to sit up, such fun accomplishments! I just love being a mom and all these diffent stages of life!

i took nick and his cousin Sam to McDonalds, but not just any old McDonalds this one is all brand new, the play area is awesome it makes me want to be a kid again! the slide is a piano and make "music" (noise) as you go down, there is a guitar that you jump on, basketball hoops, my only complaint is just not enough tables and chairs, they had fun! They are only 3 months apart and love all the same things Ben 10, Spiderman, they get a long really good! nick always says he wants sam to live at our house and be his brother.

i have been sick since friday night, so sick i even called in sick to work on monday and i never do that! i would not wish this on my worst enemy! its so hard being sick cause moms dont get a break, now both kids are sick, i feel so bad i hate it when little ones are sick! took them to the doctors today and scarlet fever..... which i learned is sever strep throat, high fever and a rash.
we have antibodics and hopefully on the road to recovery.
i was very disappointed to miss angies card class today, seems like things always come up when you already have plans made! spongebob on moms lap is the plan for the rest of our day.

i have not posted anything for a while, sorry! things have been busy, neighborhood meetings, work craziness, nathan was out of town, neighbor boy, blah! you know how it goes! I also, have been struggeling with some huge decisions, lots of pros and cons to balance out: surgery, babies, work, mexcio, money! it has never been easy for me to make decisions. but on a side note.... i got in contact with an old friend and it makes me so happy, its been 12 plus years, love ya susan, its ben too long.

It's a little late, i know but i just wanted to say thank you all for a great birthday, Nathan planned a day at the spa for me, so first thing that morning i headed up to sundance for a massage, then the whole family went bowling it was actually a lot of fun there was fifteen or so of us, then my mom babysat and we went to dinner at my favorite resturant Tepanyaki, and then out with friends, very very busy day but so much fun! Thank you all for making my big day special. no more birthdays for me, i will stay 31! what are you all doing for valentines? any cute ideas?

Nathan cut his hair!! it looks so good! 20 inches off and donated to "locks of love" i will post pictures. he is an amazing husband, brought the kids and took me out to lunch today, he is really trying hard, cleaning the house, laundry, got my car fixed, took nick to toys r us and bought him a toy, wow what a great guy, i am a lucky girl!

today Jorja had her 4 month check up, she is 11 lbs. 15 oz. little! not even doubled her birth weight yet, i asked if i should start rice cereal, no not yet. she was so good, the doctor was examining her and she was laughing the whole time, she bearly even cried when she got 2 shots.

The holidays are over, they were great!! so much fun, everythings back to normal... ha ha normal?things are calm, on to our next adventure I am turning 31 on the 31st, I want to do something fun, any good ideas?

we took the kids to see santa! Nick had made Santa a list and could not wait to give it to him, Jorja was fine, she was not scared at all. It was fun!

It is amazing how good you feel with a little bit of sleep!! Jorja slept almost 7 hours straight, Wow! I am a normal person and not a zombie just going through the motions. Hopefully she will continue sleeping good, Nick still wakes up several times.

We decorated our tree and then made a gingerbread house. It is so fun seeing the excitment on Nicks face, he is so excited for everything christmas. Ta Duh! Such a proud 4 year old!

we went and got our christmas tree, kind of weird picking out a tree with no snow on the ground, doesn't feel like christmas yet. Anyways, I love the "charlie brown" style trees, my sister in law told us where they go every year, we went there and it is just a family that sales them right in their front yard, but a large selection and cheap prices, we only spent $30 compared to years past $60-100. Baum's christmas trees, in Orem check'em out!

Jorja is getting big, it is amazing how fast they grow. She has a personality and the cutest gummy smile! she is finally fitting in all her cute clothes!

this is the fun stuff i miss out on when i am at work, not the work raking all the leaves just playing in them! i was able to stay home with Nick until he was 18 months old and by then he was ready for social interaction with other kids, i was ready too but with jorjie i went back when she was 6 weeks. For the most part i really like my job, 90% of the time, i am a secretary for an amazing Plastic surgeon, just part time but most days i would rather be home with my kids.

We blessed our little girl this Saturday, the 8th. It went perfect! I just want to say thank you to everybody for coming and supporting us. Jorjie looked so cute, the dress she wore was mine, my mom made for my blessing 30 years ago. (that ages me)
